Snacking Made Easy with Wholesome Pantry

August 20, 2019

Snacking made easy with Wholesome Pantry

A big thanks to ShopRite for sending me some samples to try.
But rest assured; all opinions are my own.

Let me paint you a picture. After getting ready and making my way to work, I usually have breakfast at my desk as I catch up with emails from the night before. By around 10 AM, I am usually munching on something — donuts left in the office pantry, some chips I packed with my lunch, whatever. It’s normally barely noon when I heat up whatever leftovers I brought in for lunch. And within a couple of hours, I’m looking for another snack. That usually ends up being some kind of chocolate or cookie. I think you get the idea.

I am in need of a serious snack makeover. As I approach forty (eek!), my metabolism isn’t what it used to be. And, heck, aside from that, I’m just caring more about what I put in my body.

Almost like clockwork, I received this amazing box of new snacks courtesy of ShopRite’s Wholesome Pantry line. I’ve been hooked on several Wholesome Pantry products for a while; the thin-sliced chicken and the oats and honey granola are a couple of my favorites.

But I’ve never really considered Wholesome Pantry for my snacking needs… until now.

Sweet Potato Chips from Wholesome Pantry

Who doesn’t love snacking on chips? But the truth is most of them are super fatty and way too salty. I wasn’t sure what to expect from these Sweet Potato Tortillo Chips. I love sweet potatoes, but more commonly pair them with brown sugar and marshmallows. What a surprise these were! A great combination of sweet and salty, I can absolutely see myself going for these to satisfy those savory treat cravings.

Snacking Made Easy: Mango Slices and Cashews

Next up on my healthy snack tasting were Raw Cashews and Dry Mango Slices. If I’m being honest, I was a little skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised by the cashews. While a little bland for my taste, they are less dry than raw almonds. I’ve heard it’s surprisingly easy to make cashew butter. So, I may give that a whirl.

The mango slices just weren’t for me. It’s a texture thing. My husband on the other hand LOVED them. They’re chewy and vary between sour and sweet depending on the bite.

Snacking Made Easy: Granola Squares

As I mentioned before, I’m already a fan of the Wholesome Pantry Oats & Honey Granola. So, it didn’t take much convincing for me to try it in bar form. The Granola Squares were actually chewier than I expected, but just as tasty. I have yet to try the Fruit and Nut Bar, but if the granola is any indication, I’m in for a treat when I do.

I can’t promise that I’m going to complete a snacking overhaul. But it’s these treats are a great reminder that there are snacks out there that are tasty AND better for you.

If you live near a ShopRite store, I definitely recommend that you check out some of these fantastic snacking options. Enjoy!
