Ladies Weekend 2018 took us all the way from San Francisco to LA. The last full day of our California adventure brought us to San Diego!
After an early morning Starbucks run in Santa Monica, we were off once again. We actually had a little time to kill. So, we were able to make an unscheduled pit stop at a very cute outlet mall. Two tops, a gift for Miles, and a pair of shoes later, we got back in the car.
Our first stop when we got to San Diego was brunch. #Priorities. Solace & the Moonlight Lounge was just what the doctor ordered. We were seated on a deck just blocks from the beach. Brunch is basically the best meal ever invented, and I love to take full advantage of both sweet and savory options. As such, I started with the “Best Darn Buttermilk Cinnamon Roll” and ended with the EBLT – Brown Sugar Slab Bacon, Fried Eggs, Toasted Egg Bread, and Lemon-Thyme Aioli with a side of fries. SO. GOOD.
After stuffing ourselves, we took a little tour of some of the San Diego area’s cutest neighborhoods.
In Encinitas, we stopped at both Thrifty Threads and Flashbacks to scour racks of gently used finds. I left with a pair of earrings and a flower crown because, of course.
Next, in Del Mar, we went to one of the most breathtaking beaches I have ever seen. I feel like that really is saying something considering how many beaches I’ve seen (Miami, Eleuthera, Montego Bay, St. Maarten, Nice…)
From there, we were off to Coronado Island and our hotel for the night: the Coronado Island Marriott Resort and Spa. The grounds were lovely, and our room was even more so, with super high ceilings, a spacious bathroom, and a beautiful balcony with a view of Downtown San Diego.
After lounging by the pool for a little bit, we enjoyed a champagne toast on the aforementioned balcony and headed across the island to Brigantine for dinner. We started with the shrimp and crab fondue. I followed that up with the Filet Mignon “Oscar”, which is a little steak topped with a crab cake. It was all delicious!
As with every other Ladies Weekend thus far, this one ended far too soon.
The next morning, I was up and out the door before the sun came out to return our rental car and catch my flight home. It’s been just a few weeks, but I’m already obsessed with planning Ladies Weekend 2019. Totally normal, right?
Have you been to San Diego? Anything great to put on my list for next time? Where do you think our next trip should take us?
