While some people have moved well into the digital age when it comes to their calendars, I am one of those people who will forever prefer a paper planner. It all started back in sixth grade, when I was handed my first ever planner by my homeroom teacher. In an effort to get kids to be more responsible with their assignments, my school (district?) made them mandatory for all students. It was love at first sight.
Alas, now there are about a million different planners you can choose from, which makes things a little bit trickier. It took me years to find my perfect planner, and I hope these reviews will help you find yours.
MOLESKINE 2017-18 Weekly Notebook Diary/Planner
When it comes to notebooks, anyone who’s ever gone looking for a good one has inevitably come across Moleskine and their classic line of them.
The one I’ll be looking at today is their soft cover, pocket-sized weekly planner in black. Here’s the basic rundown:
- Dated July 2017 – December 2018
- 3.5″ x 5.5″ (9 x 14 cm) (also available in 5″ x 8.5″)
- Flexible soft cover with rounded corners
- Acid-free 70 gsm paper
- Ribbon bookmark & elastic closure
As far as weekly planners go, it doesn’t get much more basic than this. The layout is simple: on the left is the weekly calendar and on the right is a lined sheet for note-taking/poetry-writing/doodling/to-do lists.
The size is super convenient (if you don’t have very large handwriting…or too many things going on), as it can easily fit into most handbags or back pockets, and you can’t go wrong with basic black.
There are monthly summaries if you like having a bigger picture view option, and the planner features a handy pocket in the back for any loose notes or cards. Also included? An assortment of stickers you can use to brighten up the otherwise plain pages (or use as shorthand if you can be consistent).
With the new school year just kicking off, isn’t it the perfect time to get yourself organized?
Share or comment on this post on Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest for your chance to win this classic planner (a $17.95 value) and start the (school) year off right! And if you don’t win but think this may be the planner for you, you can buy it right on Amazon.
